pizza dough, buy pre-made or make your own (see recipe)
6 large meatballs, buy pre-made or make your own (I use these)
mozzarella cheese (if your meatballs aren't stuffed)
1 egg for the wash
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Cook your meatballs according to package instructions, you want them to be cooked before encasing in your pizza dough.
Separate pizza dough into 6 equal balls, one for each meatball.
Roll out the dough balls into flat rounds, just large enough for the meatball to sit in the center of the round, with about a 1/2" dough surround.
*Not too thin or they will burst when baking
Place about 1 teaspoon pizza sauce onto the dough round, top with a little bit of mozzarella cheese, and sit your cooked meatball on top.
Gently pull the sides up around the meatball, pinching them together lightly until well sealed.
Place the meatball "bomb", pinch-side down, onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Brush meatball bombs with egg wash, and sprinkle tops with pizza seasoning.
Bake for about 10 minutes or until dough is nice and golden brown. Let sit for 5 minutes before serving. Goes great with sautéed zucchini, sliced or cut with a spiralizer.
